What this covers

This policy explains what information Folkfair collects from visitors and account holders, and what we do with it.

Account information

If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password to let you sign in. We use this to identify you and to determine whether you have admin or staff access to manage events.

Event RSVPs

When you RSVP to an event, we store the name, email address, and number of guests you provide. This information is used only to plan attendance for that event and is visible to the site's organisers, not to other visitors.

Usage analytics

We record basic, anonymous usage events — such as which pages are visited — along with an anonymous visitor identifier and, if present, the campaign information (UTM parameters) that brought you to the site. This helps us understand how the site is used. It is not linked to your name unless you are signed in, and it cannot be read back through the public site.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use cookies for advertising.

How we protect your data

Data is stored in a Postgres database with row-level security enabled, which restricts who and what can read each table. RSVP details, for example, can only be read by site organisers — not by other visitors or the public API.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers that host and run this site (such as our database and hosting providers), who process it only on our behalf.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below.

Contact

Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to the site organisers through the contact details listed elsewhere on this site.
